Avery is really starting to look forward to our Sunday Funday’s at the pool. There is a cute little water park at the pool that we visited. I’ve seen this water feature before, but I never thought Avery would love it as much as he did.
After getting out of the pool, we spent some time hanging out in the water feature, allowing Avery to adjust to being outside of the pool. I couldn’t be how much Avery enjoyed playing in the water. He may have even enjoyed it more than being in the pool because at least here, he had the opportunity to walk around and explore.
When we are in the pool, Avery is still exploring, splashing around, kicking his feet and occasionally dipping himself into the water, but he is confined to Momma’s arms or his safety floatation device. In this water feature, Avery was able to literally get his feet wet on his own terms. He could walk around, dip his toes, and splash around without the boundaries that the pool presents.
Avery did not want to leave the water feature. It was hard to snap pix and keep my camera dry but I did the best that I could. Also, we were starting to hear thunder so we needed to duck out of there as quickly as possible. Don’t wanna be caught in a storm with a babe!
Last summer we didn’t get a chance to visit the pool or go swimming. I was pretty exhausted from battling kidney failure. I thank God in my prayers everyday that my kidney function has been restored and that I have strength and energy to run around with this little sweet babe.
This summer will be our first summer venturing out of our little zip code. We have a couple of things on our radar, like visiting the zoo and maybe getting back into hiking and biking but for now, Avery’s all time favorite activities are play dates at Gymboree Play and Music and hitting the pool every weekend that the weather permits.
Have you had a chance to dip your little ones toes in the pool/ocean yet? What activities are on your summer bucket list? Leave comments below. ❤
