I am usually skeptical about allowing Avery to be free from his stroller or my arms because I know that he likes to wander off and it’s usually never in the direction that I’m headed. 🤦🏽♀️
From the age of birth til about 4 or 5, babes are operating at a genius level. They haven’t learned all of the societal norms and pressures are exploring and experimenting daily. This is a process that I don’t want to disturb. Instead, I try to create safe excursions that keep Avery out of harms way and promotes his curiosity. 🌝
As he grows older, he will learn to understand safety. But for now, I indulge in his curiosity whenever possible. The beach is such a vast place that has so much room for Avery to explore without getting too close to the water. 🏖
It’s important to allow babes to roam. Just make sure you’re keeping a close watch on them to ensure they are safe. And if they fall or get hurt, as hard as it is, try not to beat yourself up about it. And definitely don’t allow anyone to make you feel like you are a terrible Mom. Protect your spirit like you protect your edges! 🤪
No matter how much we protect them, our precious babes are going to fall, get scrapes and cuts. It’s inevitable. This actually teaches them a great science lesson in cause and effect. It helps them understand what actions not to repeat again. 🐥
I hope this has been helpful in some way. Have fun exploring! 🐛
